The Healing Heart by Sheryl Rhian Dyer

Rhian delivered this wonderful poem that she wrote from Spirit from the platform last Sunday the 23rd of August. Everyone found it so inspirational and Rhian has given permission for us to reproduce it here. It’s about the pain we face as humans and the light we hold to heal us.

I have walked through the fire
And I have withered with pain
I have known every heartbreak
And I have felt every shame

I have held emptiness inside
Worry seeped from my core
I have broken endless cycles
That can hold me no more

I have cried many tears,
And nursed many wounds
The battles I have faced
Left me broken and bruised.

But yet, here I am
I am healing with truth
I don’t need escapes
And I don’t need proof

If I am still standing
With love in my heart
In a world that has broke
And ripped me apart

Then I have the strength
To heal from the core
I have the strength
To open new doors

I can release shackles, forged from the pain
For deep in my heart
I love without blame
I love without judgement
I love without grief
And that is the thing
That make me unique

These are the things
That helps me to see
The beauty this world
Still offers to me

And so, as I heal
I choose to recall
The beauty I carried
Before I was born

The beauty I held
When I first came to be
Before any wounds
Laid their weight upon me

I go to the place
Right back at the start,
The place where my laughter
Came from my heart.

Before this life
Gave me all of these tests
Before I learned pain
Before I learned stress

I remember the person
So innocent, so free
The person I was
Before life changed me

The person so gentle
So easy to love
The person I was when sent from above
